i took him to the vet yesterday because he was drinking alot of water, peeing alot, and losing weight.
i walked in and said, "my cat has diabetes".
the vet said, "well ma'am, what makes you think that?
That's too bad about your kitty momz. My sister had a cat with diabetes that she cared for for many years.
My dogs have not been well this year, and the one dog has cancer, but I could not bring myself to put her down. We had several treatment options and we chose the middle of the road option. We had to cancel a trip to Florida, but hopefully this will give her a few more years with us. I couldn't imagine putting her down when she is still relatively healthy, and once she recovers from the radiation, will have a few more pain free years. My other dog just had surgery on her knee and will require it on her other one in about a month or so, once she fully recovers from this surgery. They are both wonderful dogs, good companions and give me much more than I give them. It would break my heart to put them down if there was anything I could do, within reason, for them.
I'm sure your children will appreciate you keeping your cat around while she's still relatively healthy and it just might teach them a few things as well (even though I know they are caring kids already).

i lent my copy of crisis in conscience to a woman i know who has a long time fader for a mate.
at first i was hesitant to let anyone see it.
well i took with me to the toronto apostafest this past autumn.
She said it was nice that we could make fun of the situation and how much healthier it was for us
than refusing to discuss it like her husband does.
So, thank you to all how made the book that much more special. I bet when you signed it you didn't
think it might change someones mind and bring a smile to a stranger.
Well, it brought alot of smiles to us all there that night, happy someone else is getting a kick out of it!

well - i had been wanting to do this for a long time , to question a legal department representative at bethel about the child abuse settlements and jw child abuse, since last year when the news came out about it.
especially since my dad , an elder for years was never aware of it and has on his own taken steps to see that families with children are informed if a former pedophile is in their congregation.
i was curious as to what the current views and policies in place are .
Geeze, does this guy think about what he says first? This floored me too Mr Flipper
We get calls all the time from someone who was molested 30 years ago by a grandfather in some remote congregation , and the grandfather would just as soon not talk about it ". This statement floored me ! I told him, " Well, pedophiles use fear to intimidate their victims ! Sometimes victims won't come forward because their lives were threatened or told they would be physically harmed . That is why many stay silent ! Fear of reprisal ! " He sheepishly agreed .
There they go, protecting th molester again! Oh boo hoo hoo, the grandfather doesn't want to talk about it, ok, let's not make him talk about it, the victim doesn't need any justice! Gggrrrrrrr makes me soooo mad! And that first sentance "We get calls all the time"???? If they get calls all the time, and they are saying there is not a problem in the WT, something isn't adding up here!
When we get reports of child abuse we tell elders to immediately report it to our legal department so we can advise them if they are in a reporting state , or non- reporting state as required by law. Then we get details as to where the pedophile lives, what congregation they are in , and any other pertinent information. "
Should it really matter if the state requires it to be reported? A crime has been committed against a child, no if ands or buts!
and we figured there was no reason to inform congregations as they'd see the news reports and we felt the elders didn't need to hear about it. "
So, no need to inform the congregations or elders eh? So these poor elders are left to deal with the fallout all on their own with no advance warning, nice, really nice. Leave them high and dry. You guys run a real class act at the Bethel!

how the hell can that happen?.
checked my email this morning and there was a message in my inbox from me to me!
lol.
I received this in a computer newsletter I recieve each day about "spoofing", thought you all might be interested in it if you've had it happen to you as well.
E-mail Spoofing
I have received a number of questions lately about e-mail spoofing, so today, I will discuss the topic and let you know what you can do to fight against this type of e-mail identity theft. Let's get started!
For those of you who have never heard of this, here is a little information about e-mail spoofing.
Email spoofing is a common e-mail trick used by spammers and phishers. It involves changing special information on an e-mail header. The header of an e-mail is not usually seen by the reader, but it contains important information about how the e-mail is displayed. When an e-mail is spoofed, the header information is changed so that the e-mail appears to come from someone who did not actually send it. Have you ever received an e-mail that says it's from your own e-mail address, but you know you didn't send it? That's a spoofed e-mail.
Now that we all know what e-mail spoofing is, it's important we understand what causes it. There are a couple main reasons why e-mails are spoofed. One way is by spammers and phishers and the other is from a virus.
If an e-mail address is spoofed by a spammer, it's likely that the spammer is actually a computer and not a real person sending out one e-mail at a time. Spam bots can send out millions of e-mails a day and they use spoofing to get around the filters that try to block the messages they send. A spam bot will usually do one of two things when spoofing e-mail addresses:
1.) The spam bot will send e-mails with random spoofed e-mail addresses. This means that every e-mail they send will appear to come from a totally different person.
2.) The spam bot will send e-mails to your address that appear to be coming from your address. This means you will get e-mails that appear to be from yourself, but you did not send them.
If an e-mail is spoofed by a virus, you will see similar results. The main difference is the spoofed e-mails will look like they're coming from people you know. In order for the virus to spread, it will spoof the addresses that are located in the Contacts folder of the infected computer. That way, the recipients may be fooled into opening the e-mail, thinking it's coming from someone they know.
Right now, there is a huge debate going on in the tech world about how to stop e-mail spoofing. With the current protocol used to send e-mail (called SMTP), anyone can change the header information and send out a spoofed e-mail. There are no restrictions on the technology to stop spoofed e-mail from being sent. Hopefully, within a couple years, we will see a new protocol for sending e-mails that will not allow a spoofed e-mail to be sent out.
Until then, here are a few things you can do to try and fight against e-mail spoofing.
If you feel like you have received a spoofed e-mail, you can do some digging and report it. The first thing to do is look at the header of the e-mail. Finding the header is a little different for each e-mail program. In Outlook Express, right click on the e-mail's subject line and choose Properties. Next, go to the Details tab and you will see the header. If you don't use OE, look for a View Header option in your e-mail program.
Here's what a normal header looks like:
As you can see, it's pretty complicated, but the good news is you only need a little bit of information from the header. If you look at the header, you can see the e-mail is from [email protected]. This is a non-spoofed e-mail.
Here's an example of a spoofed e-mail:
In this header, you can see the message says it's from smtp007.bizmail.sc5.yahoo.com, but the Reply To message at the bottom shows [email protected]. This is a spoofed e-mail.
When you have a spoofed e-mail, you should contact the domain of both e-mail addresses, as well as, the FTC's spam fighting division. To do that, copy the header information and paste it into a new e-mail. Address the e-mail to the company that is being spoofed. If they are a larger company, they will have an address to contact for abuse (which is usually [email protected]). In this case, it would be [email protected]. Also, address the e-mail to [email protected] and lastly, Cc the message to the sender's domain (in this case, [email protected]).
I know this is a lot to take in, but hopefully, it will help you defend your own e-mail address from spammers, as well as, help others who are being spoofed. Until next time, stay safe out there, my friends!
i have been married for 10 years and have two wonderful step kids, 15 and 21. being a jw i did not want a child as life seemed so pointless.
things changed for the better since leaving and i am now the proud father of a big baby boy zac - 9pounds (4.1kg), 52cm long and huge lungs.
my wife is filipino so the baby looks very asian at the moment.
Congrats! I love the pics, your wife is beautiful! My sister in law is half filipino and her and my brother have the most georgious children! (Oh course, I am somewhat biased! lol)
okay, so i know this seems trivial, but i just tried to change my avatar picture.
it's coming up on my end as the same old pic.. does my avatar show up to you as me holding a nice, shiny salmon?
i thought the pic didn't work but i got a pm from someone saying "nice fish".
I just hit F5 and saw your new pic! Sweet catch!
